Olivia Sprosty, AIA

Architect, Founder

Olivia Sprosty, AIA, is a licensed Minnesota architect and the founder of Resilience Architecture + Design, a Minneapolis studio specializing in residential design across the Minneapolis and St. Paul metro. In 2026, she received the AIA Minnesota Next Generation Award, recognizing emerging architects shaping the future of the profession.

Olivia earned both her Bachelor of Design and her Master of Architecture from the University of Minnesota. While in graduate school, she studied abroad in Athens, Paris, and London, cities that shaped her understanding of resilience and how lasting materials and timeless design serve both people and place.

With a background spanning real estate and architecture, Olivia helps clients uncover the added value in the spaces they already have. She holds a special devotion to the older homes of the Twin Cities and to the character that has kept them standing.

Outside of design, you'll find her gardening, reading, running, learning something new, and spending time with friends, family, and pets.

Alissa Barthel

Executive Assistant, Director of Marketing

Alissa is thrilled to be a part of the Resilience Architecture team! Alissa and Olivia first met when they were both on the Event Services team at the Student Union on the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus. The two of them are so excited to work together again to bring your design dreams to life. Her travels have brought her to Hungary and Italy, giving her a deep appreciation for historic architecture and breathtaking designs that can stand the test of time.

Since moving to the Twin Cities back in 2015, Alissa has fallen in love with its many natural and built environments, including a diverse portfolio of residential and retail styles. She carries a great appreciation for how local designers have celebrated the natural landscape within the integration of the local architecture. 


Outside of the office, you can find Alissa spending time outdoors with her favorite people, playing bass in a bluegrass band, running by the lakes, and reading the latest fantasy novel.

Chief Happiness Officer / Office Security

Rumble serves as a devoted companion to the Resilience team, overseeing daily work duties, providing emotional support and protecting the work space from any potential rumblings (pun intended). Rumble is always excited to greet our visitors and be a loving member of the team .

Ila

Human and Pet Resources

Ila is the go-to cat for all team related needs, including boosting team morale, offering encouraging meows, and curling up on your lap during meetings. She is always happy to assist with any concerns relating to birds, bunnies, and squirrels. You can often find her napping in the sun, lounging in an office chair, or bird watching from her favorite window.
